Outdoor Sidewalk Mystery in Klitmøller

Klitmøller lies raw and open towards the North Sea, about 15 kilometers west of Thisted, where the landscape changes from city to dunes, mare straw and endless horizon. Here you feel the wind before you see the sea, and nature still sets the agenda – just as it has done for generations.

In Klitmøller you can soon play the mission:

In the shadow of war

Agnes Hansen has passed away peacefully, leaving you a mysterious legacy. Although Agnes was an elderly lady born in 1922, she was spry to the end, and in her final days devised a series of challenges that you must solve to get to the inheritance.

During the German occupation, the area became part of the Atlantic Wall, and bunkers rose up along the coast as silent witnesses to a troubled time. Today they lie scattered in the dunes, half swallowed by the sand, as traces of the war and the people who lived their lives in its shadow.

Outdoor escape room, Scavenger Hunt, Bunker Tour or Treasure Hunt?

It goes by many names – we call it a Sidewalk Mystery.

A Sidewalk Mystery is mostly for adults and older teens, and combines the best of the escape room world, treasure hunts, historical bunker tours, City Walks and geocaching to create an experience that both challenges and entertains.

Unlike a traditional escape room, it’s not about escaping, but about stepping into a local narrative. All our games are based on – or inspired by – real events.

You have 24 hours to complete the game, but most people do it in 2-3 hours. There are no locked rooms, no time pressure and no shock effects – because reality can often be dramatic enough on its own.

But Klitmøller is not just history. Today, the town is known as part of Cold Hawaii – one of Europe’s best surfing areas. Here, local fishing traditions meet a vibrant surf culture where wetsuits and boards are as natural as nets and cutters. The ocean, once a harsh workplace, has become a playground for beginners and world-class surfers alike.

Klitmøller is a town where past and present merge: where the bunkers remind us of history, while the waves point forward.

So get ready to explore the dunes on a self-guided bunker tour and experience the bunker complex south of the city in a whole new way with a Sidewalk Mystery.
