In the shadow of war
– A unique escape room game set among the sand dunes near Klitmøller.
Agnes Hansen has left behind a mysterious legacy, but since her only child, Otto, died in May 2026 at the age of 80, you stand to inherit Agnes’s legacy.

Although Agnes was an elderly woman born in 1922, she remained spry until the very end, and in her final days she devised a series of challenges that you must solve in order to claim her inheritance.
So you’ll have to go on a bunker tour and crack the codes to uncover the legacy she left behind.
Follow the trail through the dunes, between the sand drifts, and discover the secret she has kept hidden ever since she grew up in Klitmøller, in the shadow of the war.

“In the Shadow of War” is more than just an escape game—it’s a historical experience where you step right into a story that the dunes and bunkers still hold.
Armed with your cell phone, you’ll follow Agnes’s trail through the dunes and the rugged landscape of the West Coast. Along the way, you’ll stop at bunkers to solve challenges, find hidden clues, and uncover a story of love, courage, and difficult choices during a time when the war cast long shadows over the country.

With each challenge, you get closer to the truth—a secret that has been waiting more than 80 years to be revealed.

Are you ready to follow in Agnes’ footsteps and uncover the legacy?
The route takes you along small, winding paths through the dunes and the magnificent landscape along the North Sea. The entire experience takes place in a publicly accessible area, but the terrain is uneven and therefore not suitable for people with mobility issues or wheelchair users.
Nature is an important part of the experience. Help preserve it by staying on the existing trails and being considerate of the area’s wildlife and plant life.
Keep your eyes open along the way. You might spot seals resting along the coast, bats hiding in the old bunkers, or an adder basking in the shelter of the dunes. They’re all part of the area’s unique natural environment and should, of course, be observed from a respectful distance.
