It goes by many names – we call it a Sidewalk Mystery.

A Sidewalk Mystery is mostly for adults and older teens, and combines the best of the escape room world, treasure hunts, historical City Walks and geocaching to create an experience that both challenges and entertains.

Unlike a traditional escape room, it’s not about escaping, but about stepping into a local narrative. All our games are based on – or inspired by – real events.

You have 24 hours to complete the game, but most people do it in 2-3 hours. There are no locked rooms, no time pressure and no shock effects – because reality can often be dramatic enough on its own.

In the late 1800s, Skagen underwent a remarkable transformation when a group of artists – known as the Skagen Painters – settled in the town.

Artists such as P.S. Krøyer and Anna Ancher were attracted by the special light, the open landscapes and the simple life among the fishermen. Their works put Skagen on the world map and created a lasting cultural legacy.

So get ready to explore Skagen and experience the city in a whole new way with a Sidewalk Mystery.
